Green Machine Athletics

Green Machine Athletics is a sports organization for children (age 8+) and adults with disabilities, providing year-round training and competitions in Allegany and Steuben Counties. The ‘Green Machine’ teams, as they have been dubbed, currently compete in basketball, bocce, bowling, track & field, dance, and softball. The Green Machine teams participate in local, regional and state competitions through New York Special Olympics.

*NEW* Adopt-an-Athlete

The Adopt-an-Athlete program is an initiative designed to provide financial assistance to the Green Machine athletes and teams by providing for uniforms, team travel, practice venue fees and equipment. Consider adopting an Athlete. CLICK HERE for more information.

Green Machine Athletics is a free program, practices are held weekly and athletes do not have to be served by The Arc Allegany-Steuben to participate; athletes only need to have a diagnosed disability.

Green Machine Athletics is always looking for coaches and volunteers. No specific sport skill is required to be eligible to coach or volunteer, just a good attitude and a willingness to guide, instruct and encourage athletes to achieve their goals. Reinforcement of sportsmanship, teamwork, team spirit and self-confidence are also encouraged.

If you are interested in participating on a Green Machine team, volunteering or coaching, please contact Kyle Rook at (585) 808-4379 or kyle.rook@thearcas.org.
