2021 Friends Summer Scramble

Event Description:
The annual Summer Scramble is a four-person scramble-format tournament held at the Wellsville Country Club August 27, 2021. Approx. 100 individuals participate in the event each year. Men’s, women’s and mixed teams welcome. Event includes 18 holes, cart, beverages and dinner. Various raffles are held during dinner; which your donation would be part of.
Proceeds:
Event proceeds benefit the Friends of Allegany Arc Foundation; supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Allegany and surrounding counties served by The Arc Allegany-Steuben.

2021 Friends 5k Raffle Run/Walk

Event Description:
Join us for the Friends of Allegany Arc’s 5k Raffle Run/Walk to support people with disabilities in Allegany County. The course starts at The Arc Allegany-Steuben and winds through the streets of Wellsville, ending back at The Arc.

Registration end Friday, September 10th at 4:00pm. Register by Friday, August 27th, 2021 to receive a free t-shirt.

Bib pick-up begins at 8, the race starts at 9:30am.

Your bib is your raffle ticket – prizes will be randomly attached to finish line crosses. If you finish in the designated prize slots, you win! All participants will be entered into a drawing for $100.

Overall winner will receive $50, 2nd and 3rd place will each receive $25.

People living with a developmental and/or intellectual disability like Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Autism or Down Syndrome face many challenges in the course of learning, working and living in the community. The Friends Foundation is a resource for those people.

The Friends Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit established in 1995 to ensure appropriate financial resources exist to protect and expand the opportunities available to people who reside in Allegany County, NY and are served by The Arc Allegany-Steuben. The Foundation raises and awards funds to people who have special needs in the areas of education, recreation, community inclusion and self-support. 

Qualifications for Funding:

  • Applicants must be a member of The Arc Allegany-Steuben and receive services from and/or attend programs at The Arc Allegany-Steuben.
  • Applicants must reside primarily in Allegany County, NY and the immediate surrounding area.

Request Process:

  • Requests for funding are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis throughout the year.
  • The Friends Foundation meets quarterly. It takes approximately 30 days for a request to be reviewed and processed, however time-sensitive situations will be expedited.
  • All request applicants will be notified of the Board decision via email.
  • Request recipients who are awarded funding will be asked to provide a follow-up report within six months of receiving funding to show how the funding was used and its results/impact.
