We believe through the power of sports, people with intellectual and developmental disabilities discover new strengths and abilities, skills, and success. Athletes find joy, confidence, and fulfillment – on the playing field and in life. Over 100 athletes participate in athletics through the Green Machine athletic teams.

Green Machine Athletics is a sports organization for children (age 8+) and adults with disabilities, providing year-round training and competitions in Allegany and Steuben Counties. The Green Machine teams currently compete in basketball, bocce, bowling, track & field, dance, and softball; participating in local, regional, and state competitions through New York Special Olympics.

The Adopt-an-Athlete program is an initiative designed to provide financial assistance to the Green Machine athletes and teams by providing for uniforms, team travel, practice venue fees, equipment, etc.
